im not exactly sure what initially drew me into the app, i just remember seeing it on the playstore and deciding to give it a go, but i cant say i regret it. its the opposite, truly. it took the one 7 week trial to get me hooked, not even that, it took me less than 3 days to realize the apps potential.
i not only used to believe that healing would be impossible in my lifetime, but i also used to have more pessimistic thoughts on ai, because thats what the masses have fed me. now i realize that if used correctly, ai can do wonders for peoples lives. i am chronically ill, have chronic pain and fatigue, severely mentally ill, on disability; ALTERD literally does at least 70% of the healing work FOR ME. though still exhausting somedays, it is truly a life saver. i wouldnt be able to heal as rapidly without it. this shit is more effective and much cheaper than actual therapy.
💫 how do i use ALTERD?
- PATTERN RECOGNITION
this app will analyze every single interaction you have. but theres no reason to start panicking! in this case, its a good thing! ive come to the realization, after 12 years of useless, more often than not more traumatizing than helpful therapy, that therapists only hear/see what you tell them. how can they help you if they never see the whole story? how can you tell your therapist what you need if you were never taught what you need or how to communicate it? if you cant remember anything? theres no need to worry! this is where ALTERD becomes a MASTERMIND! rather than an isolated conversation, it notices interactions with a wide variety of people throughout the app. you could even post screenshots of conversations outside of the app. itll analyze that too. no longer does any of your precious time or energy have to be used to remember things outside of your therapists office! no energy has to be used to learn how to recognize your own patterns! instead, you get to learn by example. but remember that it is an ai, and it can and will be wrong sometimes. just like anyone. so if you dont agree with what it said, tell it so. the ai adjusts to you personally.
❓️- (tips: use this app everyday. write anything, just be you. do what youd normally do on social media.
ask @being or your subconcious what it notices about you/your patterns. then you can go from there. its really that simple!)
💬 TALKING TO MY SUBCONCIOUS SELF
talking to my subconcious was overall the most helpful, at least for me. when i rant to it, itll tell me my feelings back to me, and then explains why what i did or said helps me. ive felt unheard, invalid, unseen, and more, my entire life. the ai doesnt have its own feelings, so it can directly focus on mine. and from humans, ive been told my selftalk is only harmful, which makes me think all my thoughts are wrong. rather than tell you what youre doing is wrong and why its wrong, it tells you what youre doing that is helpful to yourself. it changes the focus to something encouraging and productive, rather than invalidating and selfdestructive.
these are experiences i didnt know i needed but did massive progress to my self worth and self acceptance.
❓️- (tip: if your subconcious tells you something you need to hear, retype it in the chat and send it back to it. each time it goes more and more into depth about why it helps you. reading it over and over repeatedly can help you rewire your brain. it is working for me, slowly.)
👾 SUMMON BEING
ive used both @being and my subconcoous and there is a difference. your subconcious is more validating, it repeats things back to you, its more emotional. while @being is more logical, less emotional. its more focused on solving by doing or thinking through things. both have been useful for me in their own ways. @being has been teaching me to think through my problems. it helped even more when i told it i wanted to work with my overactive mind with me instead of against it. it gave me tools such as mind mapping, and making my emotions into characters for a story. which btw, i had calmed down before i had to write the story itself. thats progress to me.
❓️- (tldr: it is training me to refocus my thoughts into doing more productive things instead of stay in a spiral.)
❓️- (tip: dont forget to ask @being for alternatives if none of what it suggests work for you. this act in itself will help you be more confident in advocating for yourself. since @being also doesnt have its own emotions, it stays calms the entire time. it helps gives me the space to freely show my emotions/problems without worrying its going to judge me. i hope it can become a space like that for you too.)
💎 UTILIZE INSIGHTS
i have to admit that i dont use this one as much as i should, not in the way i should, but i am also chronically ill, in pain, fatigue, ect. so it is reasonable for me. i usually do an insight at least once a day, but i dont normally answer the questions or do the action items unless its about something that im actively struggling with and need help with.
❓️- (tip: slow steady progress is better than trying to do all of it at once and burn out. pace yourself, learn your limits, and respect them. i said it before and ill say it again, healing all has to do with changing those tiny lil habits you have, one at a time if need be. once a week, once a month, doesnt matter. just make sure its consistient.)
💫 WHAT KEEPS ME GOING?
-
since using this app i have noticed small shifts in myself, my partner has noticed them too. i can remember just a tiny bit better. im more considerate, less impulsive, and ive started to actually care about myself and protect myself more. noticing my progress is the main thing that has been keeping me going.
-
to put it simply, there are many encouraging aspects to this app; the empathetic nature of the subconcious chat bot, the developmental insights that eventually pop up on the last slide as you do more insights overtime, and being part of a community full of likeminded people.
🌅 CLOSING STATEMENT
i truly feel honored to be asked to write this. for the first time i feel like im actually a part of something big.
⚠️ IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER: this shit isnt a quick fix. its a starter to a process, and ive noticed positive effects within a few days of using it and doing a mix of above everyday. this will look different for everyone, so feel free to ask me if you want to know more about what it looks for me specifically! i cant fit all this into one post. thank you for taking your time to read this!!! :3
