I brew wine from home and am fresh out of yeast and yeast nutrition but I can't stop thinking about making wine. Since I was young I always wanted to produce something but as I got older it became more and more artistic, and I am ashamed to admit wine is the only thing I have pursued and stuck with. I am intensely passionate about music and videography but I never find myself pursuing, practicing, or learning much of anything about either. However I am only posting here because I was curious if you had any wine ideas, gimme weird fruit or syrups or basically anything with sugar and let's have a conversation.

I brew mead. Some of the fruits ive used to success are:
*A berry mix - Strawberry, blueberries, raspberries, and black berries.
*Apple Cinnamon
*A holiday mead- Orange, Cranberry, Cinnamon, cloves.
Mead is very different from wine I understand, but thats how I can relate.

@elle no I do mead and honeywine too it's how I started and I still do it from time to time, I made a blackberry sage that wasn't despicable and I made a strawberry rose that was pretty epic

@moe and @elle do you prefer this over store bought mead and honeywine?

@skyewizzy I have only ever tried homemade meads and was just made aware that they're sold commercially still very recently however I have been told the mead and wine I have made is more pleasant than what's purchased at a grocery story (safeway or whatever)

@skyewizzy mead is fun and pretty easy to get into but gets also fairly expensive

I also brewed a cream ale one time but I didn't really like it and haven't messed with beer since

@moe i could see that, but maybe if a definite passion i could see it being rewarding in multiple ways

@skyewizzy the store bought mead where I live is very dry tasting, and I prefer sweet. There's only one brand here, so I cant judge the rest.

@skyewizzy Honey is really what drives the cost up. My recipe calls for 2lbs of honey to 1 gal of water. And we typically make 5 gallon batched. So that 10 pounds of raw honey we need to buy for each batch.

@runawayheathen yeah last year I bought 50 gallons of honey and I literally have none now it's absolutely diabolical
