psychedelics
To start this trip I had planned a camping trip to take these mushrooms. I drove to the campsite with my girlfriend Mary on a Friday afternoon planning to stay until Sunday. The camping spot was out in the country with little light pollution. We arrived just after sunset to find the clearest and darkest sky’s I had ever seen. We could see what seemed like every star in the night sky and clearly could see the shape of the Milky Way. It was beautiful. I ate the mushrooms and sat down with my binoculars and started looking up. I was able to underside some familiar stars and we then started seeing shooting stars flying through the sky. As we waited we observed these through the binoculars and it was very beautiful. After some time I could feel the mushrooms starting to take effect. The ground and trees seemed to sort of breathe and move in odd ways. We decided to go for a walk. While walking I had some profound thoughts about civilisation on earth and the society we have created. How we have such beautiful natural landscape and mountains beaches ect. But we decided to build glass and concrete buildings. How we have an entire universe right up there and we created jobs and war, this seemed so crazy to me at the time. While walking, now getting the full effect of the visuals, we stop at this large tree. It’s clearly old and has many scars on it, I’m not sure where this came from but I started describing this trees life, about how it’s been here for years and nobody has paid any attention to it, and I give it a hug. I have an immense feeling that everything is connected and reliant on everything else. We find another tree and start talking about it, it occurs to me that I can actually communicate with them. I’m not actually hearing anything but I can feel what they are saying to me. I start talking to this tree and we quickly become friends. I am acting like a translator for Mary and have a deep conversation with this. I look back up to the sky and remember the binoculars, we star gaze some more while standing under the tree and then I start talking about the stars. I am describing how everything is connected and we can communicate with it, but the stars are too far away so we probably can’t communicate to them. Just in that moment I say that I am dropped to my knees by a massive pressure that feels like bricks on my shoulders, I instantly realise it’s the stars, they are showing me that they are not too far away, that they can communicate. We keep walking and find another tree, this one’s incredibly old and scarred and we talk to it for a while and then move back to my friend, I get a photo with it and we head back to the campsite. We make dinner but while in the process I cut my hand badly with a blade. I can see the blood flowing out of my hand, and it feels alien. It’s moving all around my hand and looks to be breathing. I clean up and plaster my hand then eat my food and go to sleep.

This trip report chronicles a 1.5g mushroom experience during a camping trip with a partner, marked by profound realizations about humanity's disconnection from nature and a perceived capacity to communicate with ancient trees. A peak moment of cosmic connection occurs when the user experiences a physical sensation of the stars 'answering' their doubt about interstellar communication. Despite a minor injury during the comedown, the narrative highlights a shift in perspective on interconnectedness and the nature of reality.
