I’m really trying to work on my anxiety. Last night I got 9 hours of sleep and I’ve been talking out loud to soothe my mind. It’s taking time and work but I’m feeling better slowly. I just want my spiraling thoughts to go way but I see how treating myself gently is helping. Anyone have good anxiety tips?

Your spiraling thoughts don’t define you and them being in your head doesn’t make you whatever they are. Knowing that you are more than your anxiety is a good place to start.

You are not your spiraling thoughts. Try to just observe these thoughts and notice when and why they arise. Using another voice to soothe them is a good idea!

To reiterate what our fellow Alts have stated, you are not your thoughts 💖 When I catch myself looping on a negative thought I try to remember to actually do something about it. Whether that's playing a video game, sketching, sometimes just a walk around my neighborhood. To me, literally anything is better than becoming comatose and freezing up because I can't make a decision.
