psychedelics
Coming down from my trip. I'm so tired of people acting like alcohol doesn't ruin lives and how alcohol isn't a drug and how alcohol is just "alcohol". Stop that bullshit. Seriously. How have we normalized poison? Poison now with some artificial flavors! It genuinely kills people. Ends their lives and ends the lives of others. When's weed done that? When's shrooms done that? It hasn't. Alcohol should never have a category on here no matter how normalized it is. It doesn't make people have an altered conscious like weed or a psychedelic does. It makes stupid decisions and thoughts sound like good ones. Have you ever heard of someone who came to a revelation while drinking? No. It makes you dumb. It makes you fat. Ugly. Depressed. And ready to ruin the lives of any poor and miserable soul you come in contact with.

Alcohol is critiqued for being socially normalized despite its harmful effects, while substances like weed and psychedelics are viewed as more conducive to positive, conscious experiences.

I appreciate a Jameson and ginger ale once or twice a month. I’ll hit a hooter to help a headache once every six months, I have great experiences with psychedelics… I truly think moderation is key with just about everything… that’s what I would think an appropriate alcohol category would be like, both the fear and loathing that’s been described above.
And I came into a revelation while drinking because I seen a man for what he truly was… and he wasn’t for me or his son… so we walked..
you’re experiences are so custom made for you, your trauma, your grief, your happiness will never be the exact same as mine but it doesn’t make your experiences any less important or more painful than mine… and I acknowledge your passion about alcohol and your thoughts and feelings are valid…
but always and never usually aren’t always or never

I would much rather take weed but it’s illegal in my country, unlike alcohol. So alcohol it is.

It worry’s me for my future because I have the feeling I won’t be able to enjoy weed the way I do now forever, which I’m obviously not a big fan of but I could deal with it if I need to. But the only thing I’d have legally would be alcohol, and I just cannot stand anything about it anymore after having lived with an alcoholic for the past 8 months.

Thank you I've been saying this for years. Just because it's legal and everyone does it. It a social thing that most people do... It definitely a drug and the one and only drug that will actually kill you if you just stop and your a alcoholic. Heroin may feel like you will die when you quit but you won't. Alcohol you can't just stop your body will go into shock. Also alcohol has caused more deaths from drunk driving, to fights that lead to death, abuse, failing marriages, loss of jobs, black out and don't remember what your doing,. It has probably killed more people than most drugs. I'm not sure about fentanyl, but it's definitely up there.
